Thank you to everyone who came out for our "Under the Lights" match last Friday. For those who could not make it, we competed against wrestlers from Appomattox, Madison, Smith Mountain Lake, and Covenant School. All of our wrestlers got at least one match, and each represented the CWC with complete class. As coaches, we couldn't be more proud. After the matches concluded we had pizza (compliments of UVA), and many stuck around to cheer the Hoos on to victory in their match against Duke. Bottom line...it was a great night!
A huge thank you goes out to Coach John Kammauff for his efforts to arrange matches for all of our wrestlers. That is not an easy task, and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have John as a part of our team. I would also like to thank UVA Head Wrestling Coach Steve Garland for welcoming our wrestlers into Memorial Gymnasium with open arms. We are very lucky to have some of the very best college wrestling coaches in the country right here in our community. The fact that they care so much about our kids and about youth wrestling in general makes it even better.

Tuesday night's Elementary and Middle School practice at UVA is CANCELLED: Tomorrow night's Advanced practice at UVA is cancelled due to the UVA men's basketball game again Virginia Tech. Pee Wee practice will still take place at Charlottesville High School as scheduled, though. Thursday night's live wrestling practice will take place at UVA.
Sign up now for summer wrestling camps: One of the highlights of my summers growing up was attending wrestling camp with my friends and teammates. I can't encourage you enough to have your kid or kids attend a wrestling camp this summer. Not only will they develop as athletes and as young men, but they will meet other wrestlers, and chances are they will develop friendships that will last through high school and beyond. - Saturday, March 5 (Time TBD), Hornet Open at Wilson Memorial High School - Tournament for all ages. More information to come.
