I went home, sat in a corner chair, and read the first line, "Along the western slopes of the Oregon Coastal Range
Nevertheless, I am tempted to prefix a few words to this novel on its completion, not expecting that many people will read them, but desirous, in doing so, of defending myself against a charge which may possibly be made against me by the critics,—as to which I shall be unwilling to revert after it shall have been preferred
An autobiographical element is evident in practically everything that Hamsun has written
The Republic of Plato is the longest of his works with the exception of the Laws, and is certainly the greatest of them

AGE DIVISION CHANGES THIS YEAR
Over the past several years, the VAWA Kids States were using outdated age groups. It was not identified until right before the 2018 Kids Folkstyle Championships. We do not know how this was missed, but the board agreed that we must do what we can to get back on track for the 2019 Kids Folkstyle States. This error in the past even had kids turning a year older than the specified age group. In an effort to bring the Kids States closer to the suggested USAW age groups, VAWA made a modification that would best fit the needs of the state from last year to this year. All in all, the age groups span 2 years. The typical physical/mental growth and development of wrestlers will be similar to all. We understand that the change may not be something everyone agrees with, but a change was needed. It is our hope and intention, to align the VAWA States Folkstyle age group divisions along with the stated USAW age divisions in the future. The State will hold its annual board meeting in September and we welcome our clubs and coaches to attend. If you can not attend, we welcome your suggestions via email submitted during the first week of September. The date and site will be announced this summer.
